Regional Optometrist – Monday to Friday, South East England.
As a Regional Optometrist, you will cover areas predominately across the South East of England where there is significant patient demand. This role will involve travel every other week and offers you the chance to make a real difference in communities that need it most. You will be at the forefront of our mission to bring eye care to those who can't easily access it, embodying our commitment to care without boundaries.
You will have the opportunity to help our most vulnerable patients with their eyesight in the comfort of their own environments. You’ll encounter a range of conditions and increased pathology, making the role clinically engaging and a refreshing change from the familiar test room environment. You will deliver our life-changing service, supporting patients and providing vital eye care to people who may struggle to get to the high street unaided.
What to Expect:
- Travel across the South East, with clinics scheduled in clusters where practicable (3-4 days in a similar location)
- Overnight stays (every other week)
- 7-8 home visit patients per day or 14-18 care home residents per day
- Hybrid days, home visits and care homes
- 4-week schedules will be produced where possible
Key Accountabilities
- Ensuring you provide an outstanding experience for your patients.
- Fulfil your working schedules because every patient matters.
- Adapt your communication style to build instant and lasting relationships.
- Provide clear and appropriate test recommendations to patients, their carers and family members.
- Meet or exceed agreed sales targets.
- Create time to seek feedback on performance and make changes where necessary.
- Use your expertise to deliver against GOC standards throughout all clinics.
- Always put your safety first
- Keep up to date with CPD and contribute to clinical and commercial reviews.
- Create strong working relationships with central support teams and clinical liaison teams.
- Provide exceptional eye test service to all patients.
- Follow professional and sector guidance wherever possible and practicable.
- Explain each procedure clearly as you move through the eye test.
- Participate and contribute in clinical and commercial reviews.
- Ensure all statutory and mandatory training is completed.
About you
The ideal candidate is a passionate Optometrist, ideally with some domiciliary experience, who is purpose-driven, commercially astute, and ready to join our specialist team of domiciliary optometrists.
You will be available for 3 days a week as a minimum You will be trusted to make autonomous decisions and valued for your professional expertise. You'll have full support from our central teams including logistical, administrative, and clinical support.
