Locum Work

Mag Glass -page -0

Locum work can be an attractive alternative to permanent employment.

Many locums enjoy the flexibility temporary work can offer. You may be studying part time, looking after a young family or you might just like the variety of working at different practices.

At Network Open Optical we have close links with independent, multiple and domiciliary companies who have requirements for locum cover on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Register with us for locum work and keep up to date with all the latest opportunities.

What do I need to register?

All we ask for is

  • Your OPL number
  • Photo ID (copy of your passport/drivers licence)
  • Your AOP number
  • Details of 2 referees we can contact for references
  • Your CV

Once you are set up on our database we will contact you as soon as work becomes available in your chosen area.

Please keep us informed of your availability for work so we know when best to contact you and to prevent you receiving irrelevant communication.

What areas do you cover?

As we operate on a nationwide basis we are able to offer our locums diversity of location. Let us know the areas you wish to work in (postcode or geographical) and we will ensure to contact you as soon as opportunities become available in those areas.

How do I get paid?

Locums are paid directly by the practice. You will be required to complete an invoice on completion of your locum assignment and any further communication regarding your pay should be directed to the practice.

How do I recommend a friend/colleague to you?

There is no greater compliment to our business than receiving referrals. As a leading specialist optical recruiter we welcome any experienced candidates in this field.

For any Locum Optometrists you refer, we will offer you a Love2shop gift card worth £25 once your recommended friend or colleague completes a total of 15 days work through us. More information here.
